A little about me:

 

Why Real Estate?

 

There is more than one reason why Real Estate was right for me.

#1) I love learning - In Real Estate the learning process is never ending.  I am constantly learning something new.  Ask a REALTOR® who has been doing it for 20 years and they will tell you the same thing.  Every property is unique and the Real Estate industry is ever changing.  It is also very a very diverse industry that requires you to understand things like mortgage finance, contract law, building construction, local government law, economics, marketing, branding and networking to name a few.

 

#2) I am creative - and I don't just mean in the artsy sense.  Creativity creates more than just art.  If there is one thing that I have noticed about myself recently it is that I like to create and build things.  That is why I cook without recipes and why I edit photo's that don’t turn out.  It is also why I wanted to build a business from scratch.  With my own Real Estate business I can take it in whatever direction I want to go.  I can use my imagination and innovation and I can watch it grow from a girl with a licence and a dream to the owner of a brand and a team. 

 

#3) I love psychology – In fact in my first year of University I thought for sure I was going to be a neural psychologist.  Selling is all about psychology.  It’s about understanding how to deal with people, being able to communicate effectively with people, and being able to read people.  Effective marketing means knowing who your target audience is and understanding what appeals to them and how to reach them.  Understanding people and their wants and needs is what selling Real Estate is really about.  It is the key to a happy client!

What is the most exciting part about selling Real Estate?

Negotiating a deal!  I also love that I meet so many new people, but the most exciting part is definitely when an offer comes in and we negotiate back and forth until we are in agreement.

 

What is the hardest thing about selling Real Estate?

It is heartbreaking when I meet people through the course of my business who have found themselves dealing with a very unfortunate or difficult situation.  However, when I am able to help them or make a difference in their lives it really gives my job meaning and it is really rewarding experience.

 

Who do I work with? - I work with Buyers and Sellers in all age groups Buying and Selling in the Campbell River area.  My focus is on residential properties but I will also work with clients who are interested in commercial properties.  I have a personal interest in investment or income properties so I love it when I get to work with Buyers who are in the market for one.  I also love to work with seniors.  We seem to really click and we always have something to talk about!  It may be because they’ve always got a good story to tell, or it could just be that I'm a little old fashioned.

Get to know me:

I was born and raised in a small town in southern Saskatchewan called Gravelbourg (population 1200).  After high school I spent 3 years at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon before I moved out to Vancouver Island in 2008 and fell in love with the West Coast!  In 2009 I decided to make Campbell River home and began thinking about a career.  I think it's fair to say that I'm not afraid of a challenge because shortly after the world went into a global economic crisis, I decided to go into Real Estate.  I am pleased to say that I have no regrets.  It has been a very rewarding experience through which I have been able to learn and grow an unbelievable amount.     

 

 

What I am passionate about:

Family - I can't even find the words to express how much I love my family and how important family is to me. 

 

Bikram Yoga - There is just nothing like a good stretch!

 

Cooking (and eating) international cuisine - I dream about taking cooking classes all over the world.

 

Photography - I often find myself looking at the world through my lens.  I also dream about taking photo's around the world.  

 

Traveling the world - This is my biggest passion, aside from family of course.  Where do I even begin?  I love to learn new languages, experience different cultures and have life changing experiences.  Mostly I am just really adventurous and I love to learn and grow as a person by seeing and experiencing the world for myself.
